Very common both created and hereditary foot issue is the Bunion. Here at LA Podiatrist we specialize in relieving bunion pain. If necessary Dr. Kourosh is a Los Angeles bunion surgeon that is board certified that can provide you with the right treatments before a surgery if necessary.
First let’s take a look at what exactly is a bunion, and how they are formed.
Bunions can form in both men and women. However many times here at Los Angeles Podiatrist we tend to see many more women with bunions due to the types of shoes or heels that women wear in their everyday lives.
A bunion is formed as a bone like protrusion base of the big toe where it attaches to the foot. Again this can be triggered by improper fitting shoes or it can also be hereditary and form over the years.
Bunions may be small and cause no pain, or they may be extreme and start to deviate the structure of the foot therefore creating complications in stiffness of the joint and overall mobility and comfort-ability of walking. There are also different types of bunions as well. On the outer toe is a condition that can occur that is called the “tailor’s bunion”, which is something that the foot doctor can help with as well.
